I visited my local DIY store this morning and after about 30 minutes my eyes started doing wierd things like looking through water.

Got home and had a horrible pain behind my eyes and felt sick, lay down for a couple of hours and felt a bit better.

I can only put this down to the store lighting hell knows what they use, is this a normal AS thing?

The senses can be tweaked such that lights, scents, etc... CAN cause such problems. It is autistic, so it is a bit broader than simply AS. Of course, it can also make you LESS sensitive to some things.

I mean, I get sick feelings when ever I go to DIY or Department stores, but so do NT's. There's so many noxious chemical fumes in those places it's stupid. This problem is very common. You must experience flourescent lights elsewhere in your life and not get ill. I wouldn't blame the lights if the problem doesn't occur elsewhere where there are the same lights.
