Why should autistic people not be friendly? Unlike neurotypicals we miss all the ideas of why we should not be friendly to some people and friendly to others. I talk to homeless people in the same way that I would talk to the CEO of a company. But friendliness is of course also a masking strategy for us. I am afraid that people will fear me if I am not friendly.
My friendliness let to a lot of situations when I just got taken advantage of. I once lost my entire collection of baseball cards because someone said he wanted to loan it. He never returned it of course.
