I'm 39 and I feel like my life stayed at a very mature 16 yr old. I just went to a youth event and I felt like that oddball peer. People 10+ years younger than me always have treated me like a little brother. Its so strange. I'm child-like he he. Like peter pan :P
Anybody else experience that?

PS: this forum has been a God sent! I've been able to share very deep things and learn to except myself.

I'm 21 years old, but around 11-12 I stopped feeling any more mature or "different" as I got older. I also get along with my cousins that are around that age. I don't purposely hang out with kids and I try my best to act like people my age, but I don't think that I really matured too much past 11-12.

I feel like I'm at least 20 years younger than I actually am. Until I see that 90% of people on the internet are at least 20 years younger than I am. Then I feel old. After all, I remember when phones still had rotary dials and we had typewriters instead of keyboards.

Yes, I took a huge break from socialising much when I was 23,so I went back into the world recently and got to know people that age.
My brain was like 'yes, these are the people i socialise with!'
Based on its last memories.
Then had to have a reality check and think, OK I'll never actually fit in with those people so I should stop.
Although I did feel like I had a better time with the youngsters than those of my own age , I could be less serious etc.

I'm in perfect health and single with no kids under the age of 18. So I had that in common with them as well, so that tricked me into thinking I'm young

Physically I feel much younger than my true age of 69 years, as I seem to be surprisingly healthy, but my self-image these days is that of an old man, and I'm painfully aware of the fact that I don't have all that long to live. I miss the days when I could dismiss getting old and dying as something too far in the future to worry about. And I don't understand a lot of the innovations that the world keeps dishing out. Some of those innovations become more or less essential and I feel as if I'm being squeezed out of the world of competence, marginalised as somebody who can't keep up.

I know that for many years I was stuck at age 13. I don't know why.

But for the last few years I've grown out of that. I'm 49 years old but as for what age I feel these days I don't know because I don't know how I'm supposed to feel at 49. I suppose I do feel like an adult though so that at least is progress for me.

Something very fresh and exploratory about that age. Thanks for sharing

In most interactions with adults, including here on WP, I still feel like a kid that is unable to comprehend the grown-up conversation. I'm generally naive, ignorant, street-stupid and clueless about how things work in the world. In that sense, I feel far younger than I actually am, maybe like a ~12-year-old child. I don't think I will ever catch up.

Is there anything out there to help manage life?especially for me who can't afford a diagnosis

It's odd because as a kid, adults always thought I was 'mature for my age' but I felt like a baby compared to everyone else, not in a good way.

Feel the same as an adult near 30 now. I struggle with adult things, like insurance renewals or saying the right thing at work. Only got my drivers licence last year.

I feel stuck at about 15, but I talk mostly with older people.
