crowd sourcing...money for aspies?

I recently heard of an interesting new concept for making money for people who dont like leaving the house.It doesnt involve making jewlry that you get stuck with because the company wont buy it back from you or stuffing envelopes.

It's called "crowd sourcing" and appears to be a relatively new concept with some up-sides and some down sides.I heard it on NPR,which you can google and listen to your self but here is the basc premise....

Companies(the two mentioned specifically are...."Inocentive Solutions" and "Threadless" but there maybe others and I think more will jump on the "band wagon".),offer money to people for solving specific "problems" of a company.The first one seems to be in research and devlopment and might be interesting for our "scientist,chemists,machinest and computer programers" the second deals in creative design of T-shirts.I checked out the latter and they do have some pretty cool t-shirts,some "aspie friendly" designs in my opinion,(I found them appealing,anyway).

As the article mentions,the up-side of this idea is that people who dont have specific credentials or resumes can offer ideas.It's anonamous and open to all.The down-side is it probably will ut some "research and design" people out of business because it is cheaper to hire an "idea" then an actual person(medical insurence,401Ks get expensive.)

I put it here instead of "work" forum because some aspies have no interest in an actual "job" but maybe able to earn extra money in this way.It maybe an alternative to getting a patent,though the latter would probably make more money if it got picked up,so dont throw away your million dollar ideas for a few thousand."Seller beware",as it were.

Just thought others might have an interest as we are a very "inventive" group,in my opinion and I love the idea of working out problems and NOT having to leave the house.

A very interesting concept indeed , the only one I have any experience is has been amazons mechanical turk site where you can help out perform tasks computers arent good at and get paid (eg comparing listings for web stores or marking road features on pictures) per item of work.

I'll keep an eye on this carefully as it has to beat my current hobby of paid surf/survey sites which has made me at most 2$ this week total.

There are so many pyramid schemes out there and you have to buy into all of them... I sometimes wondered if I shouldn't send all the addresses of those sites to the cops.
