Has anyone ever thought about starting a fraternal organization(like Freemasonry) that would have a fraternal environment where Aspies would feel comfortable fitting in and be themselves? There would be no trying to compete against the "In Crowd" when it's of Aspies, by Aspies and for Aspies. :D

It would be good to have an organisation where people could 'network' with aspies. Because of my AS I find networking impossible and it would be nice if there was somewhere that I could go to do this with my fellow aspies because I'm fed up of losing out on opportunities purely because I can't do the NT networking thing.

Well, as long as the NTs don't call themselves the Omegas.

I don't like the idea of secret societies, gentlemen's clubs, or the US collage fraternities.

I think you are missing a trick getting absorbed in that kind of elitism. I do think that having an international transparent organisation, devoid of pomp and ceremony is a good idea.

Yes, hope you and your family are well.

I am a Freemason. There are lots of guys with AS traits in it. I think it would be a good "club" for lots of guys wanting to socialise more. You have to be over 21 y.o. unless your father is a Freemason. Freemasons regard each other as "brothers" and make a vow not to hurt a fellow mason or allow others to hurt one (if in their power to prevent it without detriment to oneself).

I would give you the handshake, but then I would be "a willfully perjured individual, void of all moral worth and totally unfit to be received into a Freemasons Lodge or any other society of men who value honour and virtue above the external advantages of rank and fortune". :D
