Change is so depressing.....I'd take it pretty hard if I ever had to leave my house. I sometimes imagine living in an apartment or another house, and everything's fine......but that's only if I had still had my old house to go back to whenever I want.....I get sad just thinking about the fact that someday it's all going to be different......I'd rather see this place burned to the ground than have somebody else living here......

I've lived in the same house for 18 years...and I'm almost 19. I know how you feel though...once I get away from my parents it's going to be strange.

Nope, not me. I have lived in 5 different houses my whole life and then in a apartment at 21 and now a house again.

'Home' has been the same place for the whole of my 21 years, though I do spend time in Bath now since I started Uni last year.

I lived in the same house until I went to college...1982-2000. It was hard at first to accept that I was "moving" even though I was only going to live in the dorms and could come home relatively often...but in the end, the fact that my new roommate and I became good friends and the fact that I had more independence made up for it.

I've been living with my mother for my whole life, (I'm 22 now) and I want to move out of here and start on a clean slate. Nevertheless, it'll feel weird, I think.

I have lived in the same house since I was four years old, and I'm almost 43.

Moving out and being independent sounds like fun but....but the thought of never being able to go back......yikes....

Well, so far I've moved 3 times. The first time was when I was 10, that was a relatively small move from South Australia's capital city Adelaide to a small-ish town 309KM north west. Then when I was 12 we moved to Cairns, roughly 4000KM north east. Then a few days after my 17th birthday in December of last year, we moved here, to London.

It depends, are you meaning in with your parents? Chances are your parents would be willing to let you come visit often, spend the night at times, and would even let you move back in upon circumstances arising.

I've moved a LOT.... and I mean a LOT. Never too far from home though. Right now I live 2 hours away from my mother's, which isn't a horrible drive once you get used to it. I lived 4 hours away in my last place, which was 2 years ago. Still wasn't too bad considering we don't get along all that great normally, lol. I've also moved back many times.

I always envied children of diplomats the fact of moving to several countries in the space of only few years. I have been lived in 3 houses - I mean in the beginning I was living with mother in a special hotel for people from her workplace but we moved out when I was 3,5. Then we were living with my grandparents in the vilage my mum came from for 3 years. Now we're living for 17 years in the same town.

I wouldn't be able to stand living in the same house my whole (young) life. Unlike most Aspies, I need the change. So anyway, here's all the houses I've lived in, including the reasons for moving:

House 1: 1988 - 1995 (Mom got a divorce and job transfer)
House 2: 1995 - 1999 (We wanted a bigger space)
House 3: 1999 - 2004 (We wanted a better area)
House 4: 2004 - 2006 (We hated that area more than the other one)
House 5: 2006 - present

I am one who needs change as well.
