Hi. I'm trying to squeeze in two questions here: (1) Is tall stature (even in a short family) a trait of men with Asperger's? Most Aspies that I know are tall! And (2) since we tend to be clumsy, how many Aspies bang their inner ankles together, resulting in constant skin tears requiring bandages? It seems that I am always doing this!

I'm 5'5" tall, and diagnosed officially with AS....I think AS and height are independent of each other. In other words, height has nothing to do with whether you have AS or not...now clumsiness is a possiblity, but many AS people can be very graceful.

I think neither of those things have anything to do with AS.

I think there is validity in the clumsiness possibility. The clumsiness is probably only evident when aspies are young. Over time, we learn to prepare ourselves for the next time when the same thing happens.

I'm 5'7" and have never done that. Sounds really painfull. I guess I could get taller though since my dad grew 3 or so inches after highschool which would be great but I'm not really counting on it. For my family though, I'm taller than alot of the men on my moms side which is really short not so much my dads though. My cousin is 6'5" last time I saw him and we're the same age. I don't see him more than once a year since we're not too close with my dad's side but I actually think he's diagnosed with AS.

I have AS and I have the ankles problem - I now have scars from having inadvertantly injured myself so many times!
Personally, I think that this is due to my dyspraxia rather than AS, although a reasonable proportion of people with ASDs are also dyspraxic.
