Do you ever look at someone your own age and think, “I must be getting old”. I do that sometime, even to someone who is five years older then me but look 15 years older.

There is a road-sweeper who is one year younger then me. By heck he don’t look it, he looks like he is right in the middle of middle aged. If I was a lesser man, I would not feel comfortable about people younger then me looking so middle aged.

I got that feeling a couple of weeks ago, so no, you are not alone. My husband and I are in our early thirties and we are getting involved in our community. It dawned at me during one of my committee meetings that it is OUR generation that is currently or will soon be influencing everyday life in our town.

That is pretty freaking scary. I still feel like a teenager with little influence at times.

I get that feeling every so often, and it freaks me out, too. I have felt like I was in my early to mid 20s since I was like 15 or 16. I still feeel pretty much the same way I did back then, with a few changes, mainly in wisdom. I still feel and think like I am 26, even though I just turned 39, which blows my mind in itself. I wish someone would have told me when I was in high school that this is the way you will always think of yourself; it would have done wonders to my outlook and insight on other people's feelings.

I see some people in my age group (I am 42 years old) who look a lot older than I am. Many of them drank and smoked heavily when they were younger.
