We have a great need to totally ban this irc user from irc.chatautism.com
His nicks include:
TGLL
marching
laundronaut
liza
dean
etc etc etc.....

His real name is Dean.

We need some kind of worldwide ban because he is a troll who has totally harassed users in our chatrooms, and he has said some really horrible things. Could I have some replies on how to stop him (ie.. what all his isp's are, all the nicks he uses etc).

The first thing to do if there is no op awake is to just ignore him until he goes away.. maybe we could contact the isp with some logs of evidence..

well lets say he has said alot of horrible things towards our regular users in #chatautism mainly.... go to this link to get more of his nicks and isps... someone has said that he has been doing this for at least 4 years now..

I don't spend time on IRC, but if he makes trouble here, I can assure you he won't be around here too long.

Dean has made threats against people in the past, although he's gotten more subtle lately. He's been well known throughout the autism community for years, perhaps more like decades, I don't know. There are reasons he's banned from practically everywhere. Real, serious reasons beyond the usual reasons people are banned from places, although he will claim there are not. Mods can PM me if they want details.

In the meantime, members, especially children or anyone experiencing emotional problems, should be more careful than usual not to give out their address, phone number, etc.

ok.. well to abandon this forum and all, but im gonna post all the times/nicks/isp's that he uses for the next week or so in the aff forums from now on. My time is gmt+10. since ive already put a whole bunch of isps on that thread, it will be easier to just post them there.. i hope someone can report him to some kind of authority.

This guy sounds like a real character... does he post on any forums?

I have, in the past, found such trouble makers and .... how shall we say this, taught them a lesson that prevented them from further harassing people on the internet... are my services needed again?

He's already been reported to actual authorities when he does something that can get him reported (and gets caught at it). I think that's probably why he's gotten more subtle.

well why doesnt somebody report ALL of his isp's! That way he could hopefully rot in jail or something for causing so much mayhem on the internet.. i wouldnt mind him getting in big trouble.

I think he's been reported to his ISPs, some of which don't care enough to revoke someone's access. You can't actually go to jail just for making trouble on the Internet though. I don't know what was done to him when he was reported for actual threats though (made off of the Internet, IIRC).

sorry.. but i should really stop saying that just because pple spam/insult on irc or a blog or such, that they will go to jail for it.

im a damn idiot.. all you can do (as we know) is just tell their isp's and ya, like you said, get their account revoked... well even that would be better than nothing.

ya. the admins told me that posting someone';s ip address is like a public thing.. ie like publishing their phone number or credit card number

Some of the IPs will also probably be IPs used by other people. Historically, Dean has used large, popular providers such as AOL or Mindspring. (Caused me no end of headaches when I was on IRC from Mindspring and he'd just gotten himself network-wide bans, which happened frequently.)
