I have the post-Harry Potter blues too . I finished the last book a few days ago and I am sad that the series is finished.

My favorite book was Half-Blood Prince, followed by Goblet of Fire.

Yes, the whole thing had me quite down for awhile. I still regret that I never went in costume at midnight to pick up my copy of the lastest installment... none of my friends care for HP enough to do that I never had anyone to go with.

I was 11 when I read the first book... Harry's age. That made me feel good. Now I'm 21... which is how old his parents were when they were murdered. Not a comforting thought. I still feel random pangs of sadness thinking about the characters who died in the final book.

I regret that I never went in costume, either. My son was Harry for Halloween when he was 3 though...he looked so cute.

I am very sad about the character deaths in book 7 too. I was really rooting for one in particular to survive and have a happy life .

PM me and tell me who and I'll tell you who's death made me cry.

Argh! How long does a book have to be in print before you don't have to worry about spoilers?

I am sorry that there will be no more hp books as it has been a major obsession for me on and off, once lasting for 3-4 solid years lol. But I have yet to finish the final book... not even halfway yet, although I know who dies. I am not that grieved. I was a little peed off about one character's death as I wanted them to have a chance to go on and have a decent life, but alas...

grow up people. The movies were decent, but hardly this inspiring. I mean come on..

Those who do not like Hp or have the same sentiments do not have to post and certainly don't have to come in simply to take a snipe at those who view it differently to you.

Had you considered that something you or another might get excited about might be classed as nonsense by someone else?
I think it would be a boring world if everyone considered the same things to be nonsense.
It might be nonsense to you, but that does not mean it is nonsense, it just means that is your opinion on it.
Maybe you should think before you judge people based on their interests/obsessions as you are coming across as bit of an annoying ass for coming in this thread and insulting those who have a different interest to you, based on your own opinion.

I think it reasonable to conclude, as does the writer of this article on Salon.com, that Ms Byatt is perhaps a little miffed that her literary output has not enjoyed anywhere near the same popularity or sales revenue as that of JK Rowling.

Let Ms Byatt carry on with her über-fastidious cultural pleasures, and let the rest of us carry on enjoying our own.

I'm feeling it too. I read Harry Potter for the first time while babysitting some kids. I asked to borrow the book, and had it done the next day. I then read the rest of their books, and have been buying them since order of the pheonix.

I was kinda excited when the newe book came out. I wore a witches' hat but had to take it off because the wind was too strong.

I finished the book that day, and was pretty sad. It's over, :/
