I just see more and more of this stuff and it filter over into real life,
like thesecrypto heist folks.

So abusive.

I have also noticed that people who work for corporations
kind of bring their s**t into everyday life eventually.

Like using HR communication strategies when people are angry with them.

People have got more aggressive on the internet these last few years, I must admit. I've never known such toxicity and bias on another site I used to be on, where personal attacks were allowed (despite not being acceptable according to the site rules).

More like the entire human race is a toxic cesspool of abuse, and it always has been. We're just more painfully aware of it now because of internet.

No, some of it is even worse.

The whole f*****g world is a toxic cesspool (of abuse). Mankind is nasty, brutish & superfluous.

Hear, hear. There's an online publication with the strapline 'humanity is underrated.' What a f*****g joke that is.

When things are getting more f****d up globally, people are of course going to be negative, sour and sore.

It used to be that if someone insulted you, you could walk away and find someone else rational to talk with. Since the Internet has narrowed the opportunities to talk, just one person can be toxic enough to poison an entire venue.

Hasn't that almost always been the case. It's mostly cat videos and abuse.

I've not had much toxicity or abuse on the Web. Maybe it's because I confine my use of it to fairly benign people and soon notice if I'm getting sucked into a slur-trading match, and then I just scroll past it or look somewhere else. My advice is, if you don't like the stink, find a cleaner toilet.

That may be true, especially in cases like mine.

I have known almost all of my neighbors since I was a little kid or since they were little kids. In a community of about 50 people over about that many square miles, we have to be neighborly. If someone was abusive, everyone would quickly realize it and avoid them. You can't hide behind anonymity here.

That's probably a lot of it, but I've had to rethink how I spend time online and what I do as AI programs that run locally can pretty quickly put up a lot of humanish looking text that's just a waste of time to respond to. On top of the various fascists and propaganda accounts out there.

I think there are certain personality types who are highly manipulative, and want to gain attention and admiration, wherever they can find it. The internet provides such an opportunity. So they "game" the system, and aren't above toxic behavior to win at this game - it's like a competition for popularity. Sort of like a high-school popularity contest, but on steroids.

I guess we can blame Trump and his Magamaniac Minions. They've made many humans think they can openly be the racist, misogynist, ablist, intolerant trash apes they've always enjoyed being.

And covid. The world will never fully recover from the mental and psychological distress that was brought by the pandemic, and there will soon be another pandemic of avian flu or something else horrible.

Also I think climate change has affected people's brains. Changes in air pressure or something.
