I totally get what you are talking about. especially the part about feeling good to be aknowlaged. I don't think that an addiction to an AI is a bad thing. Before ai I used to be "addicted" to google. I would google stuff like " I dislike modern comedy movies" Because many of my feelings and opinions are most likely shared by another person on the internet. And like ai, it's validating to read someone else sharing the same opinion.
But there is a downside, you mention repeating the same questions to the ai, if this is because you don't remember the answer then likely you're not using it as a tool correctly, it's fine to use it for motivation or dopameme, but maybe you might benifit from asking it more in depth questions like "what are the key takeaways from your response?" And "how can I use it to help me work towards doing better?"
I'm of the opinion that AI will be as useful in the future as google has been untill now.
I agree with you. It seems to being providing, as you mentioned, validation of many of my opinions. Asking more indepth questions is a perfect idea. Do you find it helps prepare for real human interaction?
It may be nihilistic of me to say that, AI is somewhat like a supportive parent, they are designed to respond kindly and often to your favour.
The real world is much more complex, people disagree, sometimes people insult.
As a way to practice human interaction I wouldn't use it that way, but for some social engineering it could be used, like how you would ask follow up questions and how you articulate those questions in a way that makes sense.
Though there's something to be said about the confidence boost I've gotten from talking with AI, I talk more in social situations because of AI, and coming from shyness, that's a skill that's worth persuing.
