Has anyone else had the experience like they were visibile and feel it is caused by having AS? I can be standing in front of a cashier and be overlooked to the next person when it is my turn. I can be in a room when someone I have never met comes in and is shocked that they didn't notice me. Yes, I know I can be verbal and say, "look at me", but there seems to be something telepathic that does not go on with AS people. We don't have this aura about us.

Good spies make a living out of this sort of thing. Imagine if you've just taken out someone on the street and the description the police get is 'average build, average height, can't remember his eye color or hair color or what he was wearing.

If you don't engage socially with the people around you then you will fade into the background.

I swear, I walk down the street and must turn invisible, because people have a habit of not seeing me when they bump into me. I don't know if it's an "aspie" thing, but it seems to happen a lot to me (causing me to constantly mumble "am I invisible?"

I am utterly invisible to potential mates. Sadly, bullies seem to possess infrared vision.

Hmm, I always just thought it was because I was short...
Although I will say that this thing happens to me much less often since I made a conscious effort to learn how to act more NT in stores.

Yes, I feel invisible a lot of the time around people. I think maybe it's because I've been so rejected that I turn myself off or something.

I have that sometimes when I'm in a group of people and there's a debate about something. For example when I'm having lunch with colleagues and they're discussing politics. In the rare occasion that I want to contribute something to the debate, I often can't even finish my first sentence and some other discussion partner cuts me short and trumpets on about something completely different, and everyone's attention is focused on him (or her) as if I weren't even there. This has happened on several occasions. I find it really frustrating. Maybe it's about being too bland, maybe being more bold - more forward would help. But that's just not in my nature.

I feel the same way...
People at my course, and at the store always walk into me, as if they don't even see me. Sometimes I even feel that I am invisible and start to believe it lol.

But then there are people at my course who watch every move that I make and take every opportunity they can to make fun of, or bully me in other ways.

What a great way to describe it beyondtheinfinite..."infrared vision" :)

Yeah, I've felt pretty invisible before (actually, I spent most of first period today being invisible). Sometimes it's a good thing and other times it sucks.

Anyone else have dreams where their invisible, but it wears off at the WORST times?
I also have a lot of dreams where I can go through walls and I'm invisible.

I usually just go into places and steal stuff through walls.

Yes, it happens to me that sometime people talk between them in front of me like if I was actually not there, ... but being positive , sometime's funny the things I can notice just because I don't feel the need to be speaking each second of the conversation, like an 'outsider observant' ..
