With this I mean, I think I read somewhere might be some physical 'traits' quite common between people on the asperger/autistic spectrum. Like ... big cranium (?), gibbous front, ...

I think I got maybe a bit of this appearance, what about you ? ..

Quote:
Physical: Overall, relatively little is found on physical examination other than the characteristics of comorbid conditions, where present, such as fragile X syndrome or tuberous sclerosis.

A neurological examination can screen for possible inborn metabolic and degenerative diseases.

Head circumference is greater than the 97th percentile in 25% of individuals with autistic disorder; arrest of head circumference growth in Rett disorder can occur in children older than 5 months.

Motor clumsiness may occur, especially with Asperger disorder.

A slight increased risk of nonspecific minor congenital abnormalities exists.

Mental status examination findings include poor eye-to-eye gaze, lack of social interaction, stereotypic and repetitive use of language, inability to carry a conversation, preoccupation with a few stereotyped patterns of interest, and stereotyped and repetitive motor mannerisms.

I've heard it said that people with AS walk differently, though I have never seen evidence.

I do have kind of a weird shaped head. It's not larger or anything, just a little bit odd looking. You can't notice it now because my hair is long, but when it was really short I looked kind of strange I think lol.
I'm not sure if this has anything to do with AS though as I have seen plenty of people with big or different shaped heads.

no, I don't think so. Clumsyness and weird movements will tend to mark you out as an individual though.

What exactly do you mean by gibbous front?

Apparently there is no definite look.

gibbous could have meant several things. As for me, the circumference of my head is average. Technically, that means quite a few are smaller. Still, I haven't tried to figure volume, and exact measurements would obviously not be possible with tools I would have.

But HECK, some people may have a wider circumference, and LESS volume!

Oh, my gosh. I have the half of those, ... Still I like myself, though

And I really think there's some connections between asperger's and some of these 'traits' though ,...

Someone mentioned "small mouths". I do have a small mouth and still have crooked teeth after having many teeth extracted.

I wonder if I am the one you are referring to, though I have heard others say that. I have a small mouth, and big teeth. Several dentists have remared on it. I also have eyes that have odd coloring, remarked on by several including a few optometrists/opthamalogists, and the doctor that delivered me. I DID have a droopy eyelid, and a cowlick. I guess technically I have two types of cowlicks. The one on my nec is still there. So I guess I have a number of odd things. I HAVE heard others spea about the eyecolor and mouths.

Sometimes the cranium is larger than normal, but not always. I saw on another forum that the ring finger may be longer than the index finger on each hand.
