I do it typically thrice a year - my elderly uncle's nameday in May and his birthday in November and my first cousin's birthday (she is celebrating her turning 60 tomorrow and I'm going to attend it :) ). And as of this very year, I celebrated my own nameday in May - for the very first time in my life 8O

But that's with my family members, as I never had any close friends (and my only friends I have now are my online buddies - and even then, only one of them is an aspie).

And you?

P.S. I attend also funerals of my elderly family members but it's hard to call one a party, of course.

Yes, if I'm invited I do like to go. Shyness can overwhelm me at parties, also the obligation of wearing clothes I don't feel comfortable in, which depends on the type of party but for most parties you have to dress a certain way. I do often find myself getting restless at parties, as I don't drink alcohol to help relax me. My (NT) husband can't stay long at parties if he's not drinking, as he gets restless too. I don't struggle with sensory overload or social exhaustion, my restlessness at parties is for the same reason as my husband.

It's difficult being me because I am a sort of extrovert with social anxiety, or if you prefer, a highly social introvert. I have both extrovert and introvert traits, sometimes even at the same time, so it's not that I don't like socialising or find parties hard or anything, it's just I become restless after a few hours. But when people invite me and really want me to come I always feel touched that people actually want me there, so I quite happily attend the party. My friend at work has themed parties at her house, like Halloween or summer parties, and she always loves me to come. When I went to her Halloween party last year she was so pleased I had come and hardly left my side, and I had a great time, albeit being a bit shy because there were people there I didn't know. But they were nice and it felt wonderful to be mingling and meeting people. She's looking forward to me coming to her summer party next month. Of course I'll come.

the inlaws yearly bbq though the bbq has fallen off in favour of pizza or fries- i don't like both -
the before and after is alright (we stay over) but at the time everybody turns up, you feel totally out of place
some narcissistic bragging competions over here, other ingroup chats (people they know) over there
nobody is unpleasant but idk, best i can do is clean up some stuff or make rounds of coffee, if i get to that idea

and for once again, the friend-acquintance yearly bbq,
it was even a dog party, they threw the sheep legs into the dog party, every dog got more then could chew

Today I attended one :D I'm back now. Mom and me gave my cousin a bottle of perfume as the present. The biggest attraction of the birthday party of my cousin was... the dog of one of the guests - it was a female dog in a heat... and my cousin has a male dog    You can only imagine those two; what was happening

Yeah sometimes, usually chill house parties with a few friends or something. Not very often, but when I'm invited I'll go. I like them generally, I'm not the most rowdy so sometimes I go a bit quiet and observe but I like being included all the same. I can be quite outgoing with the right people. If it's an overnighter I tend to go to bed first because I value my sleep and don't want to be too tired the next day. I don't drink so I don't have to worry about hangovers which makes parties far more fun and worth doing.
I prefer friend parties to family parties, my best friend's parents throw a massive summer BBQ every year and invite all their friends and family. I tend to keep to myself during those because I have nothing in common with anyone. And the number of guests is way too large to know what to do with. I went to a wedding last year and the couple were people I knew online and it was a bit intimidating to be surrounded by their family. It was a good adventure though and I don't regret it.
