Autism the Musical

As I was looking through the newspaper today, I was looking through the movie section and came across an interesting find. It revolves around five real-life kids with autism putting together a production. Here is what my paper had to say about it:

94 minutes

"This film follows a year in the life of five autistic children in California, writing and rehearsing for an original stage production."


However, the release of this is very limited. (It just came out and it's only in one theater here, which I believe is an indie theater.)

Sorry, that's all the paper gave me. I might be able to see it sometime since the theater's only about thirty-fourty minutes away from here though!

It's actually called Autism the Musical. :wink:

Are you serious?

How would want to make a musical about that?

What are the songs like?

I'm not going to be crude or anything (If that is the right word) but are they going to run the stage singing songs like 'I'm having a meltdown'

If it is a musical it would

Autistic boy: I'm having a meltdown
Backing people: He's having a meltdown

Autistic Boy: I can't express myself I am so stressed
Backing people: He can't express himself he is so stressed

Surly it would be 94 minutes of that

Like to hear that one sung

Would the musical come out on DVD that should be an etertaining evening.

I'm sure the play itself isn't about having autism. It's just produced, directed, and acted in by autistic children.
