I got a yo yo once for easter 1990. It even had a small instruction book on it for doing tricks. The first time I tried to do a trick I managed to whack myself in the head.
No. I was a LEGO kid, and everything I built was based upon something I saw (concrete thinking vs imaginitive thinking) so those didn't help my imagination skills at all.
I was parital to LEGO technics becasue I could then build things that actually worked, and of course all of the things I built had to have symetrey in them if possible.
My dad at one point even yelled at me out of frustration, lamenting on the fact that my room was total opposite of the lego models I would build.
Another thing about legos, as a kid, I never developed the dexterity to handle the smaller pieces, so when I was taking something apart, I would often use my teeth to dislodge something. As a result, a lot of my lego pieces are loaded with teeth marks.
