Have you ever faked any aspie traits before I have a confession there when I was at school and me being in a unit and them knowing that I have it once decided to say that I can't cope with big crowds just so I can get out of school assembly the real reason why I didn't want to go into assembly was because it was very boring and the thought of sitting on the floor in the sports hall at school was just torturous I am fine in a big crowd. I got out of assembly and it lasted a few weeks and whilst everyone was in assembly I got to doss out in the Aspie classroom it lasted until the teacher asked me to water the plants in the garden I thought the first time round watering the plants and flowers was fine until I realised this was going to be every week then I decided that I can cope in a big crowd and decided to go back into assembly.

Has anyone faked anything like that before.

I'd have rather watered plants. I haven't faked an aspie trait the way you did, but I've had times when I expected to be something because I had AS. Get what I'm saying?

The CLOSEST I have come to that is when someone won't listen, and comes up within an idea that creates the same result. I let them go on their mistaken belief.

I've only sometimes made my traits seem a little worse than they were so that people would leave me alone. (stops the annoying jock guys from hitting on me LOL) I tell people I'm Autistic a lot because they don't understand what AS is at all. I've found I can turn my 'weird' (aspie traits) on and off sometimes. I always have those impulses, but I don't always choose to go with them- I turn the weird on by not stoping myself from acting on those impulses. I guess this is faking it, because really I can control myself very well. But sometimes, it's easier to just show people than tell them.

Me too. I can never pull it off for long, though.

How bad is discrimation towards aspies in terms of the real job world? I haven't found myself in the position of a career - is it really this hard for us to get jobs?

I haven't faked any AS traits. I am always trying to hide them to the best of my ability and I don't see any positive outcome of making them seem worse.
I don't like crowds though...that is the truth for me but I still had to sit in assembly when I was at school. (I didn't know about AS then though).

What would be the benefit of faking and I wouldn't have thought it easy to fake an aspie trait either?
