OK - I had mine taken out - nobody asked me - they were infected and that was the thing to do at the time. Recently I read this book Colon Health can't remember the physician's name - but he wrote some really interesting things about the tonsils and their REAL function in the body's system - and having them gone creates a whole slew of issues - specifically lack of motivation, focus and spaciness together with chronic fatigue. Which I know aren't tell-tale signs of SA - but....I was curious to hear how many of us actually had the procedure done.

I doubt there is any connection, I (dx'd w/AS) had a tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy due to having many bouts with tonsillitis. My oldest son (dx'd w/Autism) had his out just after 4 due to they were naturally enlargened along with his adenoids.

Problems with tonsils yes have been contributed to hyperactivity in children and all, that's been known for a while, but it wouldn't cause issues like in AS.

I really didn't know about this till I saw the article. It makes sense that every organ (tonsils are organs, yes?) has a function and connection to the brain/mind and body's health. I'm tending to go with Dr. Walker's opinion (based on pretty intensive research on his part) that the tonsils' critical importance in brain/mind functioning has been misunderstood, undervalued and too readily dismissed as being superfluous and just *germ gateways*. I think much more research needs to be done to determine exactly the roles the tonsils do play in brain functioning. Also, regarding AS - I don't think anyone can say for sure what causes it. Is it hereditary, conditioning, genetics gone haywire via toxins etc. etc.

I've never had an operation either, so I still have my tonsils. Sometimes I really wish that I didn't have them though.

Why...for me, they don't seem to do anything..
You can still get sore throats if you don't have tonsils..
