Funny how we push their buttons and they push ours.

Argh! Telepathic communication - come on and manifest already!

I read in the newspaper this morning that 1 in 3 of young adults would experience high anxiety & feelings of rejection if they received no calls or texts on their mobile for a whole day!

Probably written by somoneone on a telecommunication corp's payroll. Propoganda. That's all. And in the end, the sheeple start living the mantra accordingly.

If they all had secure roots and family ties non of this would be applicable of course....

Huh?! I'm glad that I don't get lots of texts or calls so I don't have to think of something to say/write. It's kind of sad how some people are dependent on their phones. They obviously need it to reassure themselves that they're important. Which is strange considering that most of the stuff most prople talk about on the phone is mindless chitchat

And why why why do people:

1. have their ring tones turned up so ridiculously loud??

2. have to SHOUT down their phones??

I think cell phones (in particular!) are like extension chords for people. They're not present, how can they be? They're somewhere else, staring off into space, not even aware of what and who is around them. It's pathetic. I don't use a cell phone and I hope I never have to resort to using one though in an emergency I could see their usefulness. But no thanks - for now I'll keep my convos to a minimum - no need to yabber and jabber about nothing and if I need to connect to my dear and near and business associates there's emaill and land lines.

Cell phones ringing in lectures are the worst. It's funny when the professor makes a comment about it, but that doesn't always happen. For that reason (and to avoid being a hypocrite) I refuse to bring a cell phone to class, even if I could have it turned off; I'd probably forget. I don't like cell phones either. I only have one because my parents made me get one, but I rarely use it. I only talk to a few people on the phone routinely, but that's mostly because they're my friends, but I don't use it a lot, and a lot of people don't call me either.

I hate my cell phone! If I didn't live so far from home I won't own one.

lol now that's just too anxious.

To compensate for having ruined their hearing with their iPod.

I wish they weren't necessary. I miss the days when people weren't using their cell phones 24/7.

it sounds strange, but happiness is getting home, and seeing a "0" staring at you on the front of the answering machine! Almost inevitable when people call, it's because they want something from me. The ones that call just to "chat" usually don't leave messages. I don't mind people calling just to chat too much, as long as they don't want to do it for any longer than a half an hour or so.

They're no problem if you don't plug them in.
