Some charismatic persons present the 6th sensation very high:Do the Aspergers persons have a considerable development of the 6th sensation? The perspiaciousness is augmented for the Asperger's?Are there data from the psychometric science about the Asperger's development? Is the subconcious field higher for the Asperger persons?

Thanks
Themis

Plain English - I have always called it a sense of knowing!

Ooh, interesting! I just posted a question about this, then worried I would be considered crazy for asking it! Apparently not; yay! I'd love to know more about the connection between AS and the 6th sense!! !!

I've never experienced anything I would remotely consider to be any sort of ESP/sixth sense.

I think what it REALLY comes down to is the way people on the Autism spectrum think - primarily "outside-the-box" thinking. The ability, for example, to perceive and focus on details that others might overlook or deem irrelevant, or to make connections between events and information that others don't see. This skill set is definitely useful in that it allows many AS-type people to interpret or "see" things that others may not, but this has nothing to do with anything paranormal at all.

To be honest, if I understand correctly, most individuals who claimed to be "psychics" and "clairvoyants" and whatever else have actually been demonstrated to very cleverly extract information from people and manipulate them with it. Again, a skill based on focusing/utilizing details that others don't notice.

Sorry, I just think it's bunk.

I was also wondering if someone would pose this question so I wouldn't have to ask it myself. Close friends have told me on several occasions that I'm telepathic. I have had some interesting experiences when I've been so close to another person that there seemed to be some sort of mind link that enhanced communication. Of course this could never replace speech and might get overwhelming. Lets just say hypothetically that this ability does exist with some people. I heard one theory that some autistics may try to use it to communicate. Someone told me that when he came into physical contact with people like that, including myself, he would feel something like a shock and get a sense that this person was trying to convey something. It's normally difficult to try and interpret tone of voice, facial expressions, body language, motives, etc. If you could just meld with the other person, none of this would be necessary. If telepathy does exist, we haven't developed a mind meld as effective as the Vulkins.

I'm not sure if this is what you're asking about, or not...

I had a dream the summer between my 8th and 9th grade years, about the priest at my family's parish. He was in the hospital at the time, with some kind of colorectal cancer and an infection. In my dream, he was in the church, which was packed, and he was standing up (he'd been in a wheel chair--he was a medical giant), giving a sermon, in gold robes. I could only see the backs of the heads of everyone in the pews, but one in the front row looked like my grandpa (who had died during 5th grade), at least from the back. I went to the church the next morning, early, with my mom...we were doing whitewater rafting with a group. I told my mom and a girl my age about my "weird dream". As the vans were getting ready to leave, a man came up to the van and said, "I just wanted to let you all know that Father Tony died this morning."

The same summer, I was at a friend's sleep over. I dreamt that night of a little blond boy with terrible pain in his stomach, and I was trying to get him to a hospital, except I didn't know how to drive and couldn't find a car with keys in it. EARLY the next morning, one of my friends' moms showed up to get her, because her little (blond) brother had had some sort of bowel obstruction and was hospitalized for surgery.

At 24 I had a dream that my ex-boyfriend (who was living in Mexico at the time) was attacked in the abdomen by a tiger while he was trying to rescue some other people from it. I called him in tears, to make sure he was alright and tell him to be careful. The dream was very intense. Two weeks later he was stabbed in the stomach with a knife while he was trying to protect a couple girls.

I also have constant occurrences of what people call "deja-vu". I have a kind of strange, but innocuous dream about some random occurrence at some random location with some random people, then months later I'm visiting a new place and walking with some people I just met...and I "remember" having done it before.

Above are just a few examples. People think I'm crazy and have made them up. These things have haunted me, to the point that I almost hope NOT to dream at all.
