Is anyone else overwhelmed by holiday decorations?
A unit near mine in my office went all out today decorating their cubicles with all the usual holiday gear. Usually I am unnerved by all the tinsel and garlands and lights, but it isn't that big a deal. But several people covered their outer cubicle walls with this bright red cellophane type stuff, and now I won't even go in there unless I have no choice. It's just too much.
Does anyone else have this problem?

It depends on how awful and flashy it all is.

It's mostly the lights that I like. Other than that, snow is enough. :)

I never understood the point of Christmas decorations. Waste of money(and in the case of Christmas lighting, energy).

Christmas lights are also somewhat distracting while driving.

Seconded.

Hate the really bright fast flashy lights though, they overload and make am feel sick.

Shiny.

Lights. 8O

Love them both to the point of complete distraction somedays. I think they really annoy many others though. Curious as to how a vote would go on this one.

I think I'd have to agree. Giant inflatable Santas on the front lawn just don't do it for me.

I will agree with that one...they're only cool if they become airborne on an overly windy day. 8)

You'd hate these 2 houses that are a few blocks from mine. They get together and put up at least 20 different giant inflatable Christmas related things. It'll probably be even more this year. I haven't been by there yet, but I bet they have them up already. They have them on their roofs and all over their lawns.

Christmas is my favorite time of year. I like all the decorations. I think it's very pretty. I even put my my decorations up too. Sadly lack of Christmas lights in the neighborhood here.

Being that we're both in the same state, I think I do hate them... 8O
I've at least seen it on the news, if not in person in years past.

I'm not so much overwhelmed by christmas decorations...just find them highly irritating and pointless.
I don't think that decorations look good...infact I think that they are just unnecessary mess.

All of the hassle of putting them up for just one day each year makes no sense to me.

The family that lives right next door puts up an inflatable Mickey Mouse in Santa garb each year. It seems deflated this year. I can only hope it's got a hole in it.

I LOVE tinsel, always have. Particularly red, then gold, but silver is good too.

I get mesmerised by shiny, glittery things. I even love little lights, especially those that have that sort of sugarcube glass coating.

Funnily enough, I don't like sequins much, but I think thats because I know they feel horrible, like ruffled up fish scales.
