I stim alot more at home than in public, and often I stim when im happy, angry or anxious

In what way do you stim?

I rock when im angry/anxious, and when im happy or hyper I tend to shake my legs/arms/flap

Usually when I'm bored or excited, there's no particualr place I do it more but I tend not to do it when visiting people's houses (unless they are a close friend or family member because they won't mind).
I have a long list of stims, can't name them all but the one/two I do the most is probably bouncing my leg/foot and chewing and fiddling with things.

Yes, I stim when I'm excited or angry or stressed about how to clean and organise things fast and perfectly. or it just hits out of the blue. I do it most at home and alone when it's flapping hands (because I'm embarrassed) but I'll often modify that to rubbing hands really hard and fast because it looks less odd if I'm caught in the act.

Others are I'll twist/ruffle my hair, put my hand on my face or smell the soap on my hand, chew bits of skin off my lips or press my lips together and turn them inside my mouth. I don't mind quite as much if these get seen, because they don't look so agitated or out of control as grimacing and flapping.

I don't rock much these days, not sure why.

If I have a song stuck in my head or if there's music playing and I'm sitting, I rock in rhythm to it. If I have to talk on the phone, I pace and pick at my skin. If I'm really happy about something, I flap my hands.

In bed. I can't relax enough to sleep unless I litterally rock myself to sleep.

When I am in concentration mode I (apart from stick out my tongue) flap my hands and rock a little.

When in public I control it quite well. If I am meeting new people I find it stressfull and sometimes so much that I lose controle. But I only rock on these situation. Hand flapping appears to be reserved only for those times when I am in deep concentration on some topic or singular activity of a mental nature.

I have some ticks that happen all the time. But as far as stimming goes that's about it. All in all I can control most of them (except the sleep one, not that I've tried overly much) and it appears to only "surface" when my mind is on other matters.

I stim more when I'm stressed, but there doesn't seem to be a relationship to whether I'm alone or in public.

When I get overloaded. That happens too much because of being around the kids. But I stim almost constantly in one way or another.

Sometimes i'll start to do it when i'm stressed... But, usually, i just do it for no particular reason. It depends on what position i'm in and what i'm doing, though. For example, i usually rock back and forth a lot if i'm sitting in a hard chair(where you generally end up sitting upright instead of lazily laying back like in a soft chair or couch). Right now i'm doing it, usually do when i'm at the computer, because the chair here is hard and has me sitting upright. When i'm sitting in my recliner in the living room, or another chair where i'm resting my back on the chair, i almost never rock, however. But, if i'm sitting with my back resting on something, or sometimes when i'm laying down, i'll move my foot. If i'm in a recliner and my feet are up and hanging off the rest part, i'll often "flap" one of my feet. I also bounce my right leg a lot when i'm sitting somewhere(if i'm not rocking). When i'm standing up i don't stim too much, but occasionally i'll shift my weight back and forth from side to side or lean against something and rock side to side. Now and then i shake my hands, too(i don't flap, but just shake them really fast down by my sides), moreso when i get stressed with that one though. And i pick at my skin(the skin under my fingernails is one spot i like) a lot, and have done this since middle school or so. I stim a lot more now than i ever used to as a kid or young teen, though. When i used to do it, it was pretty much limited to things like the bouncy leg... Or maybe just incidental things like repetitively making a noise with a toy for a little while, but not something i always did. Thinking about it, it seems like i must have done some kind of stimmy things back then.. Because i did like to fiddle with things to stimulate my senses... but there weren't any that i kept repeating. For example, I might find that if i do a certain thing with a toy that it makes a satisfying clicky noise and repeat it over and over for awhile, but the next day i probably wouldn't go back to doing that same thing. Plus, whenever i repeated something that bothered my parents by making a noise i would get yelled at, so most noisy habits got stopped quick. They still start complaining if i bounce my leg when i'm in the car with them, because apparently it makes the car move or something. And then i'll stop, but likely start again when i stop thinking about it.

I've noticed that I do so more when I'm in counselling, probably because the things we talk about give me bad feelings and bring back bad memories. I usually fiddle with the strap on my bag and if I don't have my bag with me, I'll quite often rest one foot on the other leg and fiddle with my shoe lace. I guess it's not the type of stim that's different but the intensity - I do it all the time while I'm there, even before we start talking!

I flap my hands in supermarkets. I hate those places. I rock went I wait in line, especially at the unemployment office (I also imagine the appliances coming alive in there because it is so boring).
I don't stim that much at home, I do it more in public, when I have to face the world. 8O

I stim both at home and in public. When I'm anxious, stressed, or agitated I stim more forcefully I guess you could say. I rock, twist my hands, wiggle my fingers, and do many other things that you might not even notice.

My tongue sort of hangs out of my mouth when I am concentrating. My family always tells me to "put your tongue away!"

I stim subtly in public, like rubbing my hand across the arm of a chair and similar things. At home I'll flap my hands and rock (well, I rock a little in public, but just barely).

I twitch my fingers in front of my face when I'm focusing hard, and I rock when upset or overloaded.

I twirl my hair together when I have to think a lot. When I'm driving together with my wife, it drives her a bit batty.

Whenever I'm alone (especially while on the computer or watching a movie) I rock back and forth. Sometimes I'll also bite my nails/skin.

In public, sometimes I'll subtly pet my knee while I'm sitting.
