Just to let you all know, I am experiencing some mild/moderate symptoms of tendinitis and so am now wearing two wrists wraps and am having to limit my time on the computer and limit my typing to the two fingered approach. So for the next three to six weeks, I shall not be posting as much because it just takes so damn long to type all this (and a lot of backspacing).

But I will be on consistently. Just not posting in my usual fervor. :)

*rolls eyes slightly* Don't worry. You aren't alone... I've been wearing a brace on my right wrist for quite some time by now, 8 months I think. Just take it easy, Sophist, and I hope you feel better. :)

Thank you, Namiko. :)

About the voice dictation software, if this continues to be a chronic problem that is something surely to consider for myself. But it seems that I have caught the symptoms early enough and just need to be on the comp less (my eyes are also suffering from long hours in front of the computer screen).

Ah, but I shall catch up more on my reading then... so no great loss.

Hope your wrists feel better, don't let that tendonitis turn into carpal tunnel syndrome.

I'm in a similar position, Sophist! I also have tendonitis, but I think it's more from mouse usage than typing, as it's only in my right wrist.

From what I understand of the two ailments, carpal tunnel syndrome is different from Tendinitis, the latter being microscopic tears in the tendons of the hands/wrists/forearms.

But nevertheless, I get your point and should watch out for that one as well being more probable from the amount of time I had been spending typing. ;)

I've had tendonitis, but never in my hands. I've only had it in my Achilles tendons.

I have tendinitis from doing bicep curls with heavy weights for a long time. I have to be very careful now not to aggrevate it, so I can only do hammer-grip curls and never do preacher curls.

I suppose not, heh.

I am also supposed to be in a wrist brace, but it turned out to be making things worse rather than better. Fortunately, I don't feel much pain, my symptoms were numbness and stiffness (which come and go still, but were constant a few weeks ago).

I hope you start to do better soon.

My sympathies. My mother also has tendonitis flares from time to time. It's mostly in the shoulders for her.

*gives Sophist as much sympathy as she can summon* I think you need this more than I do. ;)

From what VERY little I know, the numbness sounds more like carpal tunnel (or maybe you have a combination of the two?).
