Is anyone drawn to computer screensavers? There is one that I would want to purchase. It's that 3-D seastorm screensaver which shows a twister swirling over a stormy ocean complete with lightning and sound. That thing just draws me. I am sure there are others on here that are also drawn towards certain screensavers. I think there is a certain element of self-hypnosis when you get into those screensavers.

Temple Grandin has stated publicly that she tends to fixate on screensavers.
I do, as well- they sort of hypnotize me, and I hate that; I'm glad that the hypnotizing kind has become less common in my small world.
At home, my screen just goes blank when it is idle.

No, not the "starfield" screensaver! TAKE IT AWAY!

I particularly like the one I have right now called "3-D flowerbox", which I turned into a psychedelic spring. It just twirls, and rotates, and spins... When it comes on I lose track of what I'm doing and become completely mesmerized by the spinning, twirling colors.

Well if you're going to say you're drawn to screensavers you better post some links!! I like 3D animated screensavers that have complex and intricate geometry.

I agree. I demand some fractals, and some tessellating shapes.

I used to love screensavers in high school, sometimes activating them and checking them all out, messing with the options for each one. They are pretty cool. Currently tho I dont have a screen saver, I just turn the computer on and off when not in use. 90% of the time my computer is on, I am on here.

i get fascinated by screensavers & i love that star one too

at school my teacher had a screen saver where the screen became a fish tank & fish would swim but you could still see the computer screen behind it. i was fascinated by it & stood watching it. the teacher took a photo of me watching it which has ended up on the DVD that he made for us when we left, so everyone now gets a photo of me looking completely gormless, but the screensaver was fascinating!

i think i may put a new screen saver on my computer now & watch it for a bit...

any of you all remember "After Dark Twisted" screensavers? The one that was most popular was the one where the flying toasters were replaced with flying toilets. There was also one with a dude mowing the lawn and animals were jumping through the yard. Every so often, he'd hit an animal with the lawnmower! There was also one with bunjie jumpers, and occasionally the bunjie cords were either too long, or they'd break!

I love watching screensavers! I used to sit in IT lessons at middle school just gawping at the things! My favourite ones are the spinning colour patterns on a black background, although I do sometimes like to write stupid messages on the scrolling marquee!

Yes, I am familiar with that one. That is what I am currently using now.

I also <3 screensavers. I run Ubuntu Linux and they have an excellent screensaver selection :D I like to watch them. I think "Helios" is my favorite right now.
