I've heard there is discrimination against Aspies...

What are the pros and cons of being an Apsie...

The REAL pros and cons depend on the individual. Some people here find it hard to do some things I consider easy, and vice/versa.

You can always get a diagnosis, and then CHOOSE who you tell it to. My dx helped me a lot. And I can choose who I tell.

It might make it harder to keep health insurance.

I personally would like a diagnosis..just so I can know whether or not I actually have it.

It would be a big weight off my shoulders. Then I could openly talk about it and stuff....capiche?...or else get it out of my system....with the closeure of knowing that it has just been all in my head all along....

I catch myself accidentally talking about it...and I feel like I am committing some sorta bad deed...because I am not officially diagnosed...I never say that I have it...but I do say that I identify with people who do. I have been doing it more often lately....

I am under so much stress and talking about it is a sorta indulgence....but then I stress myself out by committing the deed of talking about it.

I did it today...a girl I just met....the manager of the shop I live above...as an explanation for my weird and akward behaviour...she was really cool and receptive about it...and very nice...but I still feel kinda guilty about it

In the documentary "sicko", Aspergers, along with Autism, is on Michael Moore's list of conditions which can prevent you from getting Health Insurance.
well in America anyway.
