Wouldn't it be cool if we had our own secret language! :D

I was bored today so I started to make up a language and thought it would be cool if Auties and Aspies had there own secret language that we can type and talk to each other with! :D We could even identify other Auties and Aspies by the language (like having a little sticker/patch/button that says something in the language).

I want to know how everyone feels about our own language before I post it up. I don't even know what to call it though.........

Maybe.....Autish? Autinese? Autimen?

I tried to make it as simple and EZ to understand as posible. Short words and straight foward grammer. One vowels sounds so it's Easy to pronounce and remember! It would mimic the sentance structure of english to! :D

I would like everyone to participate to bring in there ideas to build up the vocabulary and grammer of the language!! :D

I think in a way we already have our own language. I know a few people who are very likely on the spectrum, and I can have whole conversations with those people where the NT's in the room can't follow the conversation at all. One of those people is my sister's husband. One time my sister said to my mom "You should hear Amy and Josh have a conversation. They get each other. It's spooky." Same thing with one of my coworkers.

Do it. We should seriously organize this. We compile a comprehensive list of words. Then we compile a group of people willing to help out. Each person is assigned a small section, depending on how many volunteers we get.
E.G.: one person might get a-abash.

And from there we expand. But our language won't have all the useless synonyms English has. We'll have a practical language.

How far this could be expanded beyond the site, I don't know. How many people would want to learn it, I don't know.
But it might actually work if enough people are interested and we can get the admin to back up the idea.

Exactly! Imagine how for this can go!

I'll post up what I have compiled so far for on the language and you all put in your advice on what we can change to make it better and more practical! :D

I love the idea of an Autism language, but a lot of us have a hard enough time with this one, due to associate learning disorders and being intellectually disadvantaged... 8O

I was bored so I made a language huh? Yeah I have done that too... made my own alphabet and everything.
I'm al for diversity, but be careful not to take this language thing too far. We don't need it as a wedge between us and the NTs. For the sake of fun though, I'm all for it.
Little piece of advice, stay away from contributing genders to objects, we have that in Danish and it is one of the hardest languages to learn.

Look up Esperanto if you like languages :)

Mirror, you'd need to come up with a different say to express possessions....
if "a" is plural....and "as" is possessive....how could you tell the difference between a possessive singular and a possessive plural?

So that and maybe a few other things could use some tweaking...but I like your "word structure" idea.

But hey, making up languages is cool :P. I'm sort of trying to make one up....I doubt anyone would want to learn it though.
