outcasts and migration
I've been interested in the subjects of social structures, migration from continents to continents and how people became spread apart.
It's usually because of shortages of food, a new unidentifiable group is born and outcasted, social differences, shortage of jobs, bullying leaders.
When groups are targets of being treated differently, at first they ask why. Then awareness is spread. Then people who are scared of the outcasts will combat that form of awareness with their form of awareness notably by suggesting a cure and then of course comes the whole fake tolerance and anti-discrimination speeches that alot of people really don't put to use.
This isn't just about those on the autism spectrum but I've noticed this going on with races, women, gays, religion, political differences and even hair color.
What is usually the ending result? More segregation. The segregation ending result comes when during the battle of acceptance vs. the non acceptance those that are different are proving the non accepting crowd wrong. They get kicked down. So their segregation comes more as a realization that you can tell others you are different and even take the time to explain why but it doesn't mean they are going to accept you.
So then forms the segregated communities of housing either brought on by the non accepting crowd in charge, the people who just want a place where they won't be bullied or both.
Then comes the one tv station specifically for those that aren't "normal". Then comes the non accepting crowd once again to complain about that. They get jealous because they feel that if there were a tv station exclusively for them, all hell would break loose. It really is underneath it all another battle inside of themselves about blending in and how it stuck with them that blending in is good, sticking out is bad.
There is a fear of those who wish to blend in. That fear is that they've found another being that they cannot blend in with and understand. The mere presence of that being makes them feel crippled. Instead of realizing this, they use what they are good at. Manipulation and re-directing their insecurities to place it on the other person's shoulders.
Manipulation can be a power trip. Bossing someone else around, having them do things for you that you do easily but they aren't that good with. It makes them feel good. They have power over you but what they don't get is that you actually like doing those things. It in return gives you more knowledge.
When did the term Knowledge equals power suddenly get a black marker strike through it and re-written into Social skills equals power?
There seems to be a clash of codes. One person fakes it, the other one doesn't. The fake person then tried to maniuplate the situation into making the other person look false because real has become fake and fake has become real.
In my opinion it's not that they are real for being fake but that they are really fake.
This topic trailed off.

Nowadays, the true power lies in social skills. Caring as little as possible about others while at the same time being an artist at making them believe you care - is the gold of the 21st century. You're promoted in your career for being like this, admired and sucked up to by family and friends, loved by neighbours. It's called being "charming".
And yes, I'm always the one everyone thinks she's lying, because I'm the only one who tells the truth.

So-called white lies are like fake jewelry. Adorn yourself with them if you must, but expect to look cheap to a connoisseur.
I have an interest in a related subject which is in a way the reverse of your interest. I have a library of books about the assimilation of the various immigrant ethnic groups into U.S. society. I find it fascinating, for example, that the Irish have in some ways become similar to Yankees, the group they hated the most after their arrival. This topic began with my interest in U.S. voting returns. I started being curious as to why people in certain geographic areas voted overwhelmingly one way or the other. I now have a mountain of data from the census and religious denominations through which I try to sort all this out. Talk about an obsession!
And yes, I'm always the one everyone thinks she's lying, because I'm the only one who tells the truth.
Boy can I relate, and truer words have never been spoken.
What the world needs right now is several high-yield nuclear weapon detonations high above every country on Earth. The EMP effect would destroy most technological devices, especially the dreaded TV and its mind-and-social-programming. People would be forced to work together for survival, and would be forced to include those people they would normally shun. (In fact, the shunned may very well become heroic leaders!)
Of course, we'd have to wipe out the invariable raiders, looters, rapists and other scum (as witnessed during hurricane Katrina - when rules of society are lifted, some rise up and other sink to the depths of evil they've always wanted to be in.)

You can't really LEGISLATE treatment. HECK, look at me! Some people do NOTHING, should be FIRED, and make 20% or more more than I do!! One other is about as good as I am, and makes that much less than I do. WHY???? Social skills, corporate policies, and secret salaries.
If you LEGISLATE, there will STILL be such disparities, and the added suspicion of preference.
Frankly, I do know HOW to solve the problem, and don't think I haven't thought about it.
