Emergency Vehicles coming up behind you while you're driving

Does this create a horrible, nerve-wracking experience for everyone else like it does for me? I panic when there is an ambulance, fire truck or police car with its lights/sirens on anywhere near me. I can never tell where they're coming from (is it behind me? Is it in front of me? Is it on the other side of the road?) and all I want to do is get out of the way, but it always seems that I end up in the way. They are so LOUD and TERRIFYING to me... I hate it!! I work in the downtown area so I have to deal with them often... especially on days with bad weather where people are more likely to do stupid things.

Do any of you have this problem?

yes. . .

It's worse some days than others. . . but definitely a high stress factor, in any case. .

I just pull over...sometimes I can't tell where it's coming from if I don't see them, but if it sounds close I swing over and just wait it out. Scares the daylights out of me too usually.
