Hi

My obsessions are with Music and film. I have been researching, digesting these for many many years. I feel that i'm exhausting these, even to the point of where I don't feel I can pick up things/learn and absorb a lot of information from music and film anymore.

I am a visual thinker, very abstract.

At school there was something about Science/astrology that I deeply loved but at the same time, learning about it blow my mind and it was so abstract it was like I loved the complexities of it so much that I didn't know where to even begin taking it all in!!

I'd love to absorb myself in these subjects but I don't where to start. Anybody offer me why this could be? Any good books you could recommend that is delicious to digest?

Astrology is pseudoscience. I think you mean astronomy.

Are you only interested in astronomy or are you interested in science in general?

I was a biochemistry and biology major and I'm currently working on a Ph.D. in pharmacology. I use to major in philosophy, math, and computer science. I can tell you about these in varying levels of sophistication.

space.com is an excellent website. I follow any story I see, but don't really study it all that hard.
This website has a lot of good links, fantastic photos, etc.
At one time I had a Yahoo Alert for hubble telescope.

Snap some pictures of various constellations found online with the Print Screen function, and use MS paint or some other program to make paper flash cards. Print them out, and use a pen to write the constellation's name and all basic relevant info on the back side with a pen. Start memorizing until you have it all down.

This has a 3-fold advantage:

1) You now have another subject you know something about
2) You improve your short term memory
3) You can keep re-testing yourself weekly once you have it down, until it is permantently ingraned into your memory

It's also tailored to your strength as a visual thinker.
