I have met one chap from here who was local. Other WP members are either too far away or don't really appeal. I have met someone else on here - a mother going through tough times with her Aspie son - but I introduced her to this board and she hasn't been back since. I still talk to her often though.

But if there are any WP members who live locally PM me and I might be able to sort something out.

This coming summer, we have a big house in New Jersey with a pool. We MIGHT host a small party....but no promises yet. I'll have to see If I'm going to be home this summer.

We do not have room to put up a lot of people, but we can have the party here if people want to stay in motels.....and bring food or something..... we also have picnic tables, changing rooms with shower, and a barbecue.

We're in West Long Branch. Long Branch, itself is full of motels.

Btdt

I would like to meet the people I know and consider to be my friends in this place. I've often wondered what some of you are like in real life, versus your online personality here. I even wonder what I'm like in real life versus my personality here.

One at a time though; it has crossed my mind to start a local WP/Aspie meetup group, but then I remember that groups freak me out. I used to go to a local urban exploration meetup group; people would say who they are, and I'd immediately forget everyone's names and sit there and do a lot of not talking to anyone and feeling awkward. I doubt meeting with a group of Aspies would have some magical pixie dust effect that would make this feeling go away.

In reality, I don't actually really plan on meeting anyone from this place IRL; but who knows what the future holds...

Good fortune,

Yea I'll be there hehe, ill also set up a mini party if that one doesn't work out, at the jersey shore, we have jet skis, boats, hot tubs, fishing, crabbing, beach, pool, and even a firepit. So either way i would love to meet with some wp ppl, that would be so much fun.

I'd like to meet fellow aspies from this site a lot. English is not my first language and I might be a bit in withdrawal because of this, but I'd try to enjoy the experience nonetheless. I have never met any officially diagnosed persons with AS in real life.

i wouldnt really care about language... what id really care about is the hugging ability... i tend to communicate with my hugs more than words... i think hugs mean more than words...

When in doubt, ask an autistic. Chances are, they're obsessed with what you need to know.

All of you. It is difficult for us disabled NTs to communicate without being face to face!

Been thinking about putting together a meet and greet in Vegas for WP. But…too loud and how do we get those who provide genius minds who have limited funds to share in the nightmare of a social gathering?
