I used to explain my life as being "like trapped in a Stanley Kurbrick movie" to my psychiatrists. Like The Shining, that sort of realistic but unreal quality to it, and how all the tension just builds up and builds up until the end when the sky falls in...

Ricky Fitts from American Beauty has always struck me as being an aspie. He's misunderstood, been bullied, highly creative, obsessive and has a tendency to see the details over the bigger picture.
I just watched American Beauty again and Ricky certainly seems to have many Aspie like qualities : odd ,weird behavior,a high degree of honesty, social outcast. I loved the character,he was almost the complete opposite of everyone else in the movie. He didn't put on airs or pretend he was something that he wasn't. It is a shame that people like him are often social outcasts. Just because they are different.

Christopher McCandless - Into the Wild. The film was also based on a true story.

I think the 2005 South Korean film "Marathon" is one of the best portrayals of autism I'd ever seen.
