I seem to and I find this a bit odd as most people do.

But the general consensus around me and history of life is I am a peculiar person. (Aspie anyone)

I read a lot, okay tons, 2 to 3 hrs a day and some of it is horror - thus the dreams, weird part is it cycles thru me like 3 weeks later, like I am mentally constipated. lol

I just dreamed I was at the Super Bowl and zombies were after me and my lil brother, which I do not have a lil brother - only to make it home to our Ozzy and Harriet style parents and find they were already zombies!

I only like good dreams, not scary ones.

Last night I had a dream that could be explained as a nightmare. but it was more funny than scary.
I was stuck on an 'Emo train'. Or maybe 'Screamo train'.
It was scary because it went into a tunnel, but I was only scared for a couple of seconds, mainly because I had no idea what an emo train was and I was reminded of when I was taken into a mine against my will.
Still, though, the train ride was properly funny.

Most of the dreams I have are very morbid. I end up dieing, being suffocated, that type of thing. I hardly ever have any good dreams.

Some of my dreams are scary, but I seem to
have developed a sense that I'm detached
when I dream,as if I'm watching myself
acting in a film.I don't always enjoy them at
the time, but I enjoy making notes about them
afterwards and trying to anlayze them.

Nightmares are frightening but we love to be frightened - well, I do.

I'd rather have pleasant dreams.

Generally speaking, I have trouble classifying any dreams as a "nightmare"; I enjoy most all of my dreams, even "scary" ones; my Dreamlands are not an unscary place. I've had every manner of creature or monster come after me in my dreams; I view it getting to star in a survival horror movie, and I quite like survival horror. I've been stabbed, cut, bitten, shot, poisoned, infected with parasites, infected with plague, irradiated, and so on. Sometimes it is scary, and sometimes not; I like to be scared sometimes, because it is not a feeling that finds me easily in waking life.

Post apocalyptic dreams are my favorite; I've seen the end of the world in my Dreamlands many times; and the post apocalyptic world is not a pretty.

The one dream that I had that I will go so far as to call a nightmare was when I dreamt my son died; that dream left me sick and disoriented the next day, especially since he'd been whisked away to school before I woke up, and I could not see him and hug him until the evening when I got home from work.

Good fortune,

- Icarus is a vivid dreamer...

they say women dream in color and men in gene
ral do not or it is muted color.

I say if you're enjoying your dream, then it's not a nightmare. OTOH, I have had dreams where nothing is happening at all and I wake up as if it were a nightmare. They are usually stress dreams like people pacing, bright lights or not enough lights, driving without peripheral vision or too tired. Trying to read stuff or the clock. I hate that.

I like nightmares. When I wake up from one, I appreciate my real life, and they make interesting stories.

actually EKE I think you bullseyed it for me.

I like, no love stories and read about 2 hr a day, so a good or bad dream it like short story. That is if I recall it, which is usually rare.

I particularly like the dreams that take place in the alternate universe that is in my head; a world war that's been going on for decades, a gov't that forces everyone to behave a certain way, etc. It gives me a lot of good ideas for my stories. Though if I told my mother that she would think I was a sociopath or something of that sort.

I do have less dark dreams that I like too, I haven't had a real nightmare in years.

(And no my alternate universe isn't some thing where the Nazis still control Germany if you're wondering; it takes place in the future and the Nazis aren't powerful.)

Nightmares are scary. I don't enjoy being scared.

All though, I do have morbid dreams at times. In a few of them I have been a serial killer, killing my enemies...or someone has been chasing me, trying to kill me. Other times, I have dreams of committing suicide, or cutting off my limbs. Don't ask me why I dream these sorts of things as I don't know the answer. I wouldn't class these dreams as nightmares because as sick as it sounds, I enjoy them.

I get some wierd dreams and very scary nightmares, kind of wierd ones i get. like sometimes i'll have like very heavy detailed sex dreams(i mean hardcore sex) on some nights and some nights i'll have very freaky violent nightmares that usually wake me up in panic and fear...like i'm about to get my head blown up with a shotgun, or a aggressive dog mauls me or something similar, it's wierd i usually wake up right before i think something bad happens...
