Drink makes me depressed. It exacerbates my pertinent loneliness.
I gotta agree with Aspie_Chav. Any "disinhibitor" (to use a medical term ugh!) will do the trick. The big problems are:
1. Turns directly to sugar in the blood stream, and leads to fat!
2. Big studies have shown that when it wears off (even a little bit) it becomes a depressant, which makes the problem worse. This, by the way, is exploited to the hilt by the big alcohol bottlers.
3. It's habit forming
4. Depending on your kidney function, it doesn't last that long
5. If you drink enough to "chase all your troubles away" the hangover is just terrible (I've only been there once, and it was because I lost a bet with my wife, and we were at home).
6. Does a number on your liver, which is kinda fatal in the long run
7. Alters your basic blood balance, briefly, but still takes it far enough off it's ph balance to do weird things to your endocrine system if you're not careful
8. If your male, it inhibits your sexual performance (enough said)
9. If you're female, and your pregnant, it can cause birth defects
10. And speaking of sex, the thing that makes it so much fun (no, this is a scientific post, why do you ask) is that sex causes your body (male and female) to generate chemicals that make you feel really good, and alcohol gets in the way of that.
Don't know about you, but I've got enough problems in my life, including the fact that the anti anxiety drug I take has been known to be fatal when mixed with alcohol. That's one of the great big warnings I got when I started it. A good friend of mine, many years ago, died from a combination of Librium (which isn't used much today) and one screwdriver! And he had no intention of harming himself.
There's better ways to feel good (temporarily), but they aren't legal, even WITH a prescription, and only one I know of has any scientific value.....and you have to grow it yourself....and possibly go to jail. Enough said. NO. I haven't tried that either, but I had plenty of friends "back in the day....before most of you were born...." who blew enough my way for me to know I don't like the feeling. "We're closing the windows, man, so if this stuff bothers you hold your breath. We'll be done in a couple of hours, and you won't feel anything by then anyway."
