Hi Guys,

Im new to this site and found it while looking for some kind of answer to my problem.

I started off this evening looking for some information on dyslexia as my spelling and short term memory is realy bad, on my travels i was made aware of quite a few disorders, such as dyspraxia, adult ADD, and just now Aspergers Syndrome, i thought that some of you guys might be able to help me, i have always been extreamly clubsy whitch is what has led me to your site. tripping and knocking things over is a twice a day (at least) thing for me. Anyway, im rambling, thi8ng is i cant seem to distinguish between the formentioned disorders as i seem to have some symptoms related to all of them. If any of you can help i would greatly apprechate it.

Exclamation Poor balence

Exclamation poor awarness of body position (so realy bad at sport, no big deal cause no interest in it anyway)
dont like people touching me or invading my space.

dont fully understand others and avoid socialising
avoid eye contact (i think this is shyness)

I always interupt other people
Hate Change
Always loosing things
dificulty staying focused on one thing
often take on multi projects without finishing one
procrasinate alot
realy slow reader
hard to diferentiate between left and right
cant do stuff in my head, need to draw diagrams for eaven the simplest of things
get numbers mixed up and often backwards
prone to making errors

You sound a little like me I have been diagnosed with aspergers, Dyslexia & Dyspraxia, been told have bipolar traits and undiagnosed I'm sure I also have/had ADHD when younger and still do (still very hyper). and had clutters a speech disorder, when younger speech was corrected, and then have/had lots of sight problems..

So not that simply, you really do need to get professional advice if want to be diagnosed, and unfortunately it all costs...

You know yourself best, so do some test, read as much as you can and then ask someone who knows you well and you trust to give their honest opinion along the lines of the questionnaires.

If it still looks like AS etc.., the next step should be an assessment by a clinician who has some knowledge of the area (you have to ask around). I also regard a psychometric assessment as essential (has to be done by a registered psychologist), plus assessment by an Occupational Therapist would be useful (dyspraxia is very common), although this is harder for an adult to access.

I have all those things, except that I'm a fast reader.
