What is positive about autism?

What do you see are the positive attributes of autism?

One attribute that immediately comes to mind is the potential for Godly intellectual capacities. One need only remind oneself that many of the world's calculating prodigies have been diagnosed autistic.

Also, specialization is very important in our economy. If one person diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome has a special interest in food production, he may trade quality food for a quality shelter built by a person diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome who has a special interest in house design.

Honesty and a childlike playfulness.

The ability to have an encyclopedia-like knowledge in one's area of interest seems worth trading any neurotypical social-skill for.

It seems that being aspie and, to a degree, a lot of autism in general, is like a 747! The NTs bye it stock, load it up with seats, and paint it. The Aspies tweak the engines, clean up the cockpit, and throw in electronics. SO, Which one is better? The painted aircraft takes more fuel, and doesn't navigate as well, but may be simpler to fly. The plane one costs less to fly, navigates better, but can't transport people as well.

Getting a degree in maths and thinking "Wow! That was easy"

(Usually) high intelligence, the ability to retain facts for recall, the ability to make correlations between data sets and come to a 'new idea'. The ability to concentrate, even hyperconcentrate and focus on something. Being witty, being smart, being funny.

Don't forget devilishly handsome.

Oh, and the License to Kill... can't forget that.

Many are in relation to its negatives:

The ability to focus on a single topic with all of ones mind/attention
A lack of care for social norms provides truthful/insightful answers where others fear treading as they see that their social status will be jeopardized
A "childlike" innocence/demeanor in individuals who're adults (not to be confused with immaturity)
The ability to see things, many overlooked things (details...)

Have you really tried to look? I mean many may be like the example I gave, try to sell tickets to passengers, and try to start an airline with that 747. The customers may complain about the lack of seats, and you may go broke, but those planes STILL have their charm!
