Religion cures AS? I might become a Shinto person then.

She's not, I assure you. At the risk of being blasphemous, the Bible, religious or no, is just a book. Reading a book won't cure your AS. If you were wondering, I'm a Christian, and should be reading more of my Bible myself...

It may give you moral comfort, but won't cure AS.

Religion does not help AS in any literal sense. Religion is, however, something into which uncontrollable obsessive energy can be discharged, which can sooth you if you're one of the wild, stressed-out AS types.

Your mother isn't right. No amount of reading can "cure" a neurological difference. Asking that is like asking if clapping your hands will get rid of a food allergy.
Trust me, whether you read the bible or not, it wont change the way your brain works.

No, that is untrue.

If you believe in Christianity, then perhaps it will make you feel better, but reading the Bible will not alter your neurological structure. That's just silly.

Might brain wash him like it does most of them :/ lol, read the Genesis book that soon will make you run in the other direction...

Yes the rest of it goes like that, congrats you just visited a museum of creatism :/ & that isn’t a joke they replace everything with the genesis...

http://www.talkorigins.org/faqs/genesis.html

001:001 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

001:002 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was
upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon
the face of the waters.

001:003 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.

001:004 And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the
light from the darkness.

001:005 And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called
Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.

001:006 And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the
waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.

001:007 And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were
under the firmament from the waters which were above the
firmament: and it was so.

001:008 And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the
morning were the second day.

001:009 And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered
together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it
was so.

001:010 And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together
of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good.

001:011 And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb
yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his
kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so.

So if I read the Bible maybe the next time someone ridicules me for having autistic-like quirks I won't feel a thing. in that case, wouldn't it be true that the Bilble cures neuroticism?

No. It simply gives you a place to put your autism, so to speak.

I personally find reading contradictions to be very helpful.

She is trying to do what is best by keeping your media "G" rated.

It's best not to tumble with the parents on an issue such as this.

My opinion would be in contradiction to your mothers.

What is important to remember is that your mother is trying the only way she knows how.

And if you really want to know, I say, read the part in the bible where people have a personal (ie private) and conversational relationship with G*d and ask yourself what it means within you-read between the lines on what it meant to the characters in the book and how that all happened. Does your perception of their relationship with G*d resemble at all this thing that is going on with you and your mother?

The point is, there may be advice and comfort in some of the passages for you but there is no cure for any type of autism anywhere.

I didn't like the creation story very much. But the Gospels were interesting.

Romans 12:9, Marks of the True Christian, is among my favorite passages, but I haven't read the whole Bible.

The Golden Rule can be applied in many different forms under many different circumstances.

I would have to say that among my least favorite passages in the Gospels are Matthew 13:12, Matthew 13:47, Matthew 25:29, and Luke 8:18, because they still appear to leave room for victimization of the weak, poor, or less fortunate. I agree, however, that we should help the needy, and to me, that means all the needy.

Your mom is incorrect. I can't believe you're asking this, really..
