Does anyone have comobrid conditions along with their Asperger's? How do people react to you when your symptoms show at home or in public? I hate the fact that I have paranoia which is part of my Generalized Anxiety Disorder. Some people understand me when I'm that way and others are just plain foolish. Is there anyone who's not a math whiz and has Asperger's? Math sucks for me! The thing that really gets me paranoid right now are my tics! The more stress that comes to me, the more I do them!! I get so paranoid thinking that they'll happen during an inappropriate time.
My mother becomes annoyed whenever I become a germaphobic and I hesistate to touch or do anything with germs. Anyone have severe learning disabilities?

I have Asperger's and I'm not a math wizard. As a matter of fact I almost failed math at college last semester. I'm currently doing MATH 111 (Intro to Probability)

I habitually failed math, and then had to take remedial math in college, but for 24 years I have been a software engineer, and I build systems that perform complex mathematical calculations all the time. I may not be good at test-taking, but I am a whiz at figuring out how to get computers to figure that stuff out for me. So, in a way I know math really well, but from the inside.

My favorite thing is to write user-friendly online calculators for my office that perform all of the math that people can't figure out in their heads, such as base converters (i.e., octal, decimal, hexadecimal, etc.)

Give me an algebra test tomorrow, and I will fail it, but the math-heads come to me to find out how to make their software behave, if it even works at all.

There are different kinds of gifts :D

As far as co-morbid things, fragrances make me so desperately ill I can't even sit in the room with scented people, and that has caused a lot of problems - for some reason people get *really* angry if their cologne or perfume makes you sick. I have heard that lots of people with AS and other spectrum issues have this sensitivity (Tony Attwood mentions this in his books). Fragrances smell like bug spray to me, and I don't know why others think they smell like flowers, vanilla or spice. All I can smell are the underlying chemicals, and I get severe headaches and nausea from them. The sensory problems are overwhelming - a real curse.
