Sounds abstract and it it is, in a way, in the sense that it’s progressively more difficult to manage in a rational way.

The more you perceive the other hostile and unsatisfactory, the more you become hostile and unsatisfactory yourself to others and so on and so on. In politics these leads to an arms race like the one that has brought us to have a world where two powers have the capability to destroy not the enemy, but the whole planet as we know it. A similar process is probably taking place in this days between the west and the Islamic world.

These are symmetrical processes. And something similiar happens when communication between Self and Other cannot communicate freely. Self builds a defensive system, the “bubble”, which protects it from being harmed from the Other. The Other, in turn, gives up having a real, not formal, not instrumental (“please move I have to pass”), not shallow communication with Self. Self hardens and becomes more unapprochable, retires in the bubble and closes all openings. And so on, and so on. How to stop this can we talk about it?

My guess only young children perhaps 6 and under can we consider any active intervention to prevent the negative effects of social cogntive problems from causing them to form a bubble around them. Though I wonder how much could be done in the
most ideal enviroment compared to the typical? Identical twin studies would be nice ,but how many twins are still seperated at birth in western countries (where aspergers
occurs more often)? I'm guessing very few and add in less than 1% occurance of
ASD and that leads to no data. Older twins seperated at birth likely did not get any
advance social skills training (since I'm assuming aspergers was rarely dx in the past).

To make what I mean more understandable, if possible, I will refer to my experience. At a certain point of my life I realized that I had spent all my years and energies in the effort of “pretending to be normal”, that all I made was fake, false, that I was never myself, that I never really made something that was in harmony with was I was deeply. It was like a long sonnambolic voyage. There was a strong motivation for this: I hade to earn a living, to manage relationships in which I could not lay bare my real being. Only when I could not stand anymore this false exsistence, and, on the other side, I was not any more in need to submit nyself to this strain, because I had gained some economical autonomy, I started to look back at my life with lucidity, and I was horrified. No more of that, I had to tell to myself. I started to shun all those persons whose connection with me was tied to my falsity. To those whom I thought that their “friendship” was something going beyond staying in the game of my pretending, I tried to give a picture of my real self. Even if I don’t repent this effort it was an utmost failure. Nobody understood, nobody wanted anymore to deal with me, didn’t know how to communicate with me. What could I do at this point? I was to strenghten my “true” experience, the “bubble”, which had always coexisted with my acting and pretending, but had occupied only an inner hidden space. This relinquishing of pretence and acting, has alienated all people who thought they knew something of me. This further pushed me towards inhabiting in my bubble and nothing else. Towards making it more solid, and attempting to let nobody in, if not disposed to have at least a glimpse at my burrow, as it is really, a desperate wasteland. Not many, probably no one wants to look. So the vicious circle goes on. This is what I mean by this akward expression “the symmetrical process”.

I thought I understood your point very well.

My answer was your not going to remove your "bubble".
