Have you taken the Aspie quiz? That would be a good place to start.

http://www.rdos.net/eng/Aspie-quiz.php

As far as getting a diagnosis goes, its all up to you and what benefits you could get from a diagnosis. I got one because I wanted the closure of knowing for sure that this was why I felt different from other people an why I had such a hard time socially. If your having a hard time at school an official diagnosis would go a long way in getting the school to make accommodations to help you succeed.

But why did you come here if you wanted an expert's opinion? To me you seem like an aspie. Non-social, sensory issues, intense interests, abject to change, can't make small talk, allergies, having to analyze before acting, easily distracted by chatter in the background and bright lights, and the real clue your stimming! Though if it's actually Tourettes I'd be wrong.

Your mom seems odd too so that's probably where it came from.

Also not symptoms but very aspie-like is your high intelligence, high creativity, and ability to completely submerse yourself in video games. And high grades.

Is it worth getting a diagnosis? Well maybe you just have adhd. I really don't know and I'm really close to deleting this post but I'm feeling adventurous today so I'll do it anyway. Must overcome fear of failure and ejection... argh!! !

welcome microban!

i think there can be no harm in knowing

i think there can be an awful lot of harm in not knowing

what you do with knowledge, of course that is individual choice -
but let your decisions be informed ones

good luck in/on/at WP

I also posted this recently on Medhelp.org in the expert section, haha. Thanks for being so quickly responsive.

Ugh.

Get diagnosed by an expert, otherwise don't claim you're autistic.

Don't be a jerk shloadance. Microban came here asking for our opinion on what he might be based on his personality. Aspergers is diagnosed on behavior and often goes undiagnosed if you very high functioning. There's probably a lot of people here who are not official diagnosed but have enough autistic traits to believe they are.

Well, you've got the intellectual side, the social side, sensitivity to light and noic, and rocking, which I'll say is pretty close to stmming. I'd say you're probably on the spectrum. ((And I'm the quickest one here to point people another direction ^_~ )) Why not see a shrink where you live, the fact is that it's easier to diagnose someone when you can observe them in person.

Hey why'd you delete your post Microban? Hope you weren't put off by the one clown who wanted to be an arrogant smartass. You get a lot of that here. Did you get your diagnosis?
