I have just had a sudden inclination to be childish and go out a buy a toy.
I think this is because I have been in quite an irritable mood of late because I am finding out that I likely have Diabetes (I am having MANY attacks of both hypo- and hyperglycemia and so now I am seriously altering my diet). Irritability, along with MANY others, is one of the symptoms I present. (The rest are slight and sudden onset of depression, tachycardia, extreme and sudden fatigue, sudden muscle weakness, headaches, slight numbness in the reaches of my extremities, very poor concentration, and a couple others.)
I have also been worrying about not having insurance (since I have lost my Medicaid thanks to the Republicans in office) and while I seem to feel improvements with my new diet, it is still not perfect and is very hard to measure when too much is too much. Effectively, I cannot have any sugars or carbohydrates unless my blood sugar is already low and then I cannot take too much without feeling it. So, I need to do something and get tested, of course, and hopefully get some medication (which will cost an arm and a leg). In the mean time, I have been studying up on Diabetes and the various types of attacks and what can be mistaken as Diabetes and what are the symptoms and risks and what to eat and how much and what not to eat or when. Sigh.
So in the mean time, I just want to go out and buy a toy. Maybe a lovely stuffed animal or something. Just something that makes me feel warm and fuzzy, even if only for awhile.
I might just go and do that...
