If interested, a confidential poll.

I know the rating categories won't fit everyone. So which every one best fits, generally.

Vote only once ok?

If interested. Could you rate your level of functioning compared to the recent video posted by Alex of Alex? He'd be at a 10 I think.

To me, he seems to be very highly functional, so very HFA, high functioning Aspergers.

I was curious about the degrees of Aspergers and autism of peoples here.

I know the rating categories won't fit everyone. So which every one best fits, generally.

I know this is just one type of rating and there are other types or ratings with other categories, very different categories.

There are many other possibilities besides the ones listed.

Yeah definitely! This was just one set of possibilities. I should've explained in my OP, I'll do that now.

Between 3 and 5, I have a fair amount of friends. But I find making friends difficult, well not completely. I don't have a problem getting along with many different types of people, but going from acquaintances to long term friend is a problem for me.

No girlfriend, working on it. Getting better; I think some girls like me and I could have a girlfriend. But by the time I'm aware... it's usually too little too late.

I'll manage financially... but probably nothing rich. But I don't have fancy tastes so it'll be fine by me.

I'm more interested in having quality time and low stress than making money. If I'm a poor American that is still doing pretty good in my book, if I'm wise about money.

Fairly high functioning, but not without problems. And since I didn't start really understanding how behind I am socially till really late... well that makes everything else in life difficult.

I'm scattered wildly through the categories so I can't vote appropriately.

Well, my answer isn't in there at all and so it wouldn't be confidential.

One spouse, some distant acquaintances, distant from family, SAHM, when I work it's a low-level job and I'm lucky if I make friends there.

Yeah, this one is tough - I have a full time job, and always have, but I have learned that I prefer near isolation, so I try not to get in social situations with people.

At the office I try to avoid working directly with anyone, ever, because they drive me insane, and I believe I make them even crazier. Work is VERY emotionally difficult; I am always in trouble for not being a 'team player', but I get outstanding reviews for my actual results. I build systems, so I ask people to just leave me alone, and then I will deliver a great product.

Socially, I prefer to be alone, or with my college-age kids. Socializing absolutely wears me out, and the older I get, the less inclined I am to even bother. I am actually happier this way :)

So it's hard to vote in this survey, since it's possible to be super-high functioning in some areas, and a complete zero in others. :?

This is helpful. Thank you. I'll adjust the categories. I just tired and can't - probably because the voting started already.

I guess, whatever fits best. Sounds like you're in the #3 or so area

What's funny, a mixture of 1 and 2 is considered the norm for those with "high-functioning" autism (AS/HFA).

1, but I have a partner (we found one another on the 'net, so that's kinda telling), and I'm studying at college (I don't interact with anyone).

Work, school and relationships are the criteria they use to base one's functioning; you should add school to the lists.

I'm considered really high-functioning by professionals; you can see me talk in a video I posted in the video thread; that's as good as I get.

hmm...this is confusing because i have friends who i automatically know are my friends and there are some people who i'm a little fuzzy with in the friend area.

I appreciate the effort and insight of the poll

I appreciate that. I'm just trying one thing, because I feel blind to who takes part on Wrong Planet. I saw Alex's recent video he posted. And he's so much higher functioning than I am. I'm a 3 maybe. He seems way up there. Well 'high functioning' in terms of these categories. Just these categories. I hope this doesn't make anyone mad. Bet lots would say #10 means nothing for functioning. i can see this and respect this opinion TOTALLY.

I can't change the poll options any more. Probably should have thought it through more - more categories and the like. Guess I'm just looking for a general impression.
