How do you keep your patience with, what do you call 'em, NT's? What are your strategies? Like when you misunderstand what other people are doing or there intentions and they misunderstand mine, how do you keep your cool? What do you do with your anger? I often don't know what to do with it.

I just 'forget' my anger. It becomes easier with time.

I'm very patient, see.

I am not good in the patence dept. In recent years I have learned to deal with this a little better. Primarily my improvements are with people. For the first time in my life I am not actually taking my childhood DX seriously and I realize their is definatly a loss of connection with me and the rest of the world. I know I need to keep my cool and try to mitigate.

If you loose your cool things just get worse. It took me almost 25 years to learn this cause I know as a kid I was a very VERY different person then I am today.

Damo (5 years) has got no patience at all sometimes. He wants things done like 5 minutes ago, he wants to know exact time things are going to happen down to the minute.
With his anger or more frustration it really depends on where he is. I know at school he has broken down and cried or saved it up till home and hello meltdown. But at home he will jump and shake his hands or sit down and bang his head or simply jump and demand demand demand :!:
I have been telling him you do (look at book, play with cars) while you wait, it works well most of the time :)

My patience with other people is VERY thin. I hate walking behind slow people, especially a crowd of 3 or 4 who just HAVE to all walk side by side. People who take an elevaotr up ONE DAMN FLIGHT. People who spend 5 minutes in line, then STILL HAVE NO FRAGGING CLUE WHAT THEY WANT TO ORDER!! !! !! !! !

overall, my patience sucks.
with NTs, i'm happy to say it's situational (this wasn't always the case). most of the time i can keep the worst of it to myself.
once i get home... not so much.

I get fairly impatient when I'm taken for a complete idiot, things aren't explained very well to me, and so forth...

I can relate to your posting. I find it very annoying walking behind other people too. I prefer lots of space infront of me or I get annoyed and anxious. My 3 year old son who has HFA is the same way. He often screams if he's in his buggy and there are people infront of him, effectively slowing us down. Lately he's taken to kicking out if someone is too close. When we dare to take him to a car boot sale I have to leave a large gap between the buggy and the person in front else he feels they are invading his space and kicks out.

I have no patience whatsoever, I want everything done "now" and not a second later. I get anxious when things aren't instant and my youngest son is the same way. I do not know how to wait and I can be quite intolerant about delays of any sort, delays make me anxious and frustrated.

My patience level is not good. I can honestly say it's gotten worse with age...whether that's a result of dwindling hormones or just the fact that I've gotten older and don't give a dam* what people think anymore...I don't know....but I have this tendency to just blurt stuff out anymore.

I'll say things and like...I did NOT just say that did I?

My patience is near infinite.
I has certainly not always been but it has improved no end from about the age of 35 onwards.

It depends on what situation I'm in.

I used to have explosive anger and it only caused more problems. I had to take a class in anger management and I have to say, it helped. As for patience, just like anger, I just try to not think about it. If I do, it really does make things worse for me. I also have to catch myself from doing it.

I consider myself a patient person. Though if I'm in a rush, trying to get somewhere or just want to get away and someone's slowing me down, I'll get frustrated and upset about it pretty quickly.

How patient I am varies with who you ask and what I've been through lately.

When I was growing up I was quite impatient. Recently I have gathered enough self-discipline and respect to be fairly patient. It varies depending on the given situation. If I am playing poker, for instance, I am extremely patient. If I am behind two eighteen wheelers side by side on a two lane highway for more than 30 seconds I become quite frantic and impatient.
