Today my office mate told me that our boss told her to be more like me: able to focus on one important thing at a time and tune out the rest and the unimportant. I very rarely receive praise, much less for one of my aspie traits.

What about you?

Asperger's doesn't give me any special traits.

It brings to light and intensifies the ones I naturally have.

Good way of putting it. 8)

I get a lot of crticism veiled as praise. For example, "Only you would notice that."

"You're so straightforward."

"You're very honest."

"You do a good job."

"You say what you mean."

Yep, pretty much what everyone else says already, plus things about perfectionism and looking at the whole picture when implementing things (because I study it in-depth) etc.

I've been called a walking medical dictionary and human spell check. Oh, and if you want to know the side effects of a medication for your heart, cholesterol, a psychiatric disorder or something you take an antibiotic for - I'm your gal.

"You always keep calm"
(little do they know I'm like a swan on the
surface but with legs paddling like mad under
water)

"You're a mine of information"
(and most of it useless .... )

I've also been called honest, but in the
context of probably being too honest for my own good

I am often praised for being well spoken.

Which makes me think that I must be more of a quiet person than I realized. People aren't used to hearing me speak I guess. Which is funny since my nickname used to be motormouth when I was a kid.

For being an intelligent, decent young man.

Funny, I think it's my greatest curse

1. We always need you when we are trying to solve a problem, because you can always solve it and explain it to us in such simple terms that we all understand.
2. Your writing is so simple, that all those documents you write are easily understood by everyone, even if engilish is not their first language.
3. You are a quick learner and learn things so thoroughly.
4. You think of every possible scenario and write such detailed documentation.
5. You have outstanding work ethic.

I never accept praise. I am very much against it, I do not know why.

"Wow, you know how to play the guitar very well! I'm impressed."

"You shouldn't be. I noticed plenty of mistakes, I'm surprised you didn't catch onto them."
