Any Aspie Signers use tactile ASL?
I've met a few other Aspies thru this site who know ASL, but I wonder if any know tactile ASL...I taught myself tactile ASL in 2003, and the only other Signers who seem to be comfortable with me reading them tactually are the Deaf-Blind. I just wonder if there are any other Aspie Signers who use tactile ASL.
I myself have some visual processing deficits that I assume are part of my AS that are really starting to get in my way of reading ASL visually. I already am totally unable to read ASL on videophones. I've only tried twice, but failed both times. It just looks like the other Signer is far away. I definitely prefer to read ASL tactually, and that can only happen in person. But even in person, most Signers in Cincinnati, OH, USA force me to read them visually, and so I'm not fully comfortable with them.
