I dont think the shrink was really willing to listen to why I think Im an aspie and wouldnt dx me with that because of lack of ritualistic behavior (said my stuff was just quirky not ritualistic.) So anyway they did dx me with nonverbal learning disorder which seems to be quite similar (if not very similiar) though I still donno some of the differnces Ive seen seem wrong but whatever.

Oh also forgot to mention that the worst thing about the process is that I had to talk to about 6 people in all and all of them wanted to shake my hands (and I really tried not to stim which was stupid as not stimming for that long is hard for me) but then they got me and my parents in a room with all of them (after I said I hate groups where more then 1 person talks) and I couldnt hold it in and started rocking though not very noticably.

I, myself, have a general routine and not a strick one. However, I still get upset if it is disturbed without enough notice beforehand.

Sounds like you went to a somewhat unexperienced shrink?

Well, approximately 40% of Aspies have comorbid NLD. It's basically the social Aspie problems (when it is NLD alone) but with visuo-spatial problems added to it.

In other words, you could very well have both. Plus, I think many diagnostiticians right now are hesitant at diagnosing both Aspergers and NLD together and I think if there are clear NLD problems which aren't always seen in Aspergers, then one is more likely to receive the NLD diagnosis. But this is only what I've heard.

As of now, there's not a lot of literature and research on NLD to show true differences between it and Aspergers. :?
