Awful but not surprised.

Here, a school bus driver assaulted a 13 yo autistic student because he did not get up and off the bus fast enough when they arrived at the students day care program. That driver is still driving the same route and even the local DA would not press charges (said that the child cannot be a witness because he cannot talk even though 4 people from the day care place saw the incident). This driver is also known to leave the child without someone to pick him up (that is against the law here).

In the case of Terrence Contrell Jr., I remember the priest appealing the 2.5 year prison sentence stating that it was too long

I think some people just need help understanding that there isn't always a "why". Humans always think they can "fix" things...it's built in. When they find that they can't, they short circuit and do the unthinkable.

The courts are far, far too lenient. Throw away the key.
