Sometimes I just want somebody who understands Aspergers but isn't a guy (I have trust issues with the male species). Is there any females Aspies out here I can talk to? It's very lonely sometimes

For what it is worth, I think you are selling some of us(the aspie male species) short.

You'd be shocked at how candid some females I have known were TO MY FACE, and they were trusting too.

Hey, I can't blame you. I used to have issues with trusting guys and I still do a little bit, but amazingly, more than half of my friends are guys and I seem to get along better with them than my girl friends. Weird how that happens. I'll be happy to talk to you, but please give guys a chance. Yes, there are always going to be some guys, and girls too, that are really mean and horrible, but not all. I noticed there are different personality types in guys and the more sensitive ones are more likely to wind up as my friends. Maybe you just haven't met any sensitive enough guys yet. Still, I'll be happy to talk with you and make you less lonely. I get lonely too so we might as well be lonely together. -Power Girl

Me too. I'm always open to talking. And I'll always respond very quickly if I am online.

Edit: For the record, I'm female.

I read in some book about aspies that female aspies prefer guy freinds over girls. The reason being is because women/girls are more emotionally demanding then guys. Another thing it said is women, apparently aspie or not, are more boring to a female aspie. I know that's true for me. I'm a woman and I get along better with men than women. My problem is men usually think I'm after them which is very frustrating so I don't try to be friends with anyone. I have one female friend but she's got a lot of aspie traits, we've concluded that's why we get along so good.

I get along equally well (read: badly) with both genders; it doesn't matter to me.
