I felt that I was happier when I was a child since I was a lot more carefree and oblivious to everything going on in the world, and feel more miserable today since I'm aware of current events, which can very much depress me, given all the hatred, anger, intolerance, and so forth, in the world...
I tend to agree with DukeGallison, also..
As a child we do not know or understand
Growing up it can be terrifying and confusing
In old age acceptance and exclusion...
But you have got me thinking as we all know there is generally a lack of services for adults, and yes we do change, adapt - but the thing that concerns me is that certain factors as we get older seem to worsen, we can become more set in our ways and withdraw from society to cope, I have noticed as get older sensory issues and other things I am less tolerable to than when younger, our needs seems to change and the condition in old age has not really been looked into or considered enough in my opinion....
