So I'm not upset, I'm just normal. And he comes along and says "Why are you upset at me?" I say "What? I'm not upset!" He thinks I am. I say, "you THINK I'm upset but I'm not. THAT makes me upset." He says, "So you are then." Don't ever do that s**t to find out if someone is upset; it's annoying!

Yes. My boyfriend used to do this to me ALL. THE. TIME.

Then I found out I had Asperger's and now he believes me when I say I am not... it's still a little frustrating to convince him, but I can remind him of things like having inappropriate facial expression or whatever is making him think I'm upset (he believes me when he realizes I have no idea what I'm transmitting that gives off "upset" vibes).

I totally agree. I find myself getting upset when others in my company assume that I am and treat me it, although I am not upset/was not before.
People constantly assume I feel all kinds of things I don't though, I usually get very defensive about it, because it's so annoying.

Ug, story of my life. You can NEVER convince people that your not upset when they have it in mind that you are.

Yeah, when people can't read you they tend to try to fill in the blanks. It can be very annoying when they constatnly get it wrong. That being said it is a two way street, as I can easily misinterpret other peoples feelings and they may get angry at me.

That's not an aspie thing... it's general male/female miscommunication.

Read: Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus

Better yet - make your boyfriend read it.

I get the teachers coming up: "Why do you look so sad?"
or even worse, I might get the: "Smile! Come on, be happy!"

Apparently, if I'm not smiling, it means I'm sad. Yet with everyone else, if they don't smile, it means they're in an average mood. This is in spite the fact if I'm not smiling I might actually be quite happy.
